No Adverse Effects!
Bat finally recieved his 1st Pfizer vax yesterday at our local grocery store, and today he feels fine. As for a lingering sore arm? Muscular Dystrophy contributes to a higher threshold of pain than others may be used-to; he never even felt the shot. But luckily, he's had none of the side effects reported by myself & others.
Also a relief was the brief amount of paperwork to go over. After a short list of 10 or so formal questions, he was ready. This, of course, was followed by a customary waiting period of 15 minutes (on the honor system). All in all, it was considerably less stressful than he'd presumed.
In addition to a vaccine ID Card, they gave him a rudimentary care package comprised of in-store coupons (natch), as well as a packet of sturdy alcohol wipes, a pair of masks, and a litter bag.
He plans to take his 2nd shot exactly 3 weeks later, in time to build up in his system before his family's yearly get-together at Harstine Island, at the end of August. …All-you-can-eat mussels, clams & oysters, fresh for the digging.
Early reports from Harstine Island claim the mussels have all died from the recent heatwave. Be advised.
ReplyDeleteYay Bat!
ReplyDeleteSad about the mussels.
Bat may want to wait longer for the shot if the family trip timing allows. Word is that Israel and the UK are having differing amounts of subsiding immunity, even though they both got the Pfizer. The difference appears to be the number of weeks between jabs. Israel did 3, the UK did closer to 12, and they aren't having the immunity drop off the same way. Or so I hear.
